The Future of Sight is Touch™

Meet CyR.U.S.

Raised Universal Symbols

The first – and only – modern tactile language designed to give the over 2.2 billion people worldwide who have some degree of vision loss independence, enjoyment and product safety.

How many times have you had soap in your eyes in the shower and blindly reached for a product? Instead of shampoo – you grab the conditioner. With many packages sharing the same profile, it’s easy to make that mistake.

How often have you squinted your eyes unable to read the text or the list of ingredients on the packaging because it is too small – even with glasses. You vow never to purchase that product again. The aging population is rarely considered in package design.

I know that’s happened to me. More times than I’d like to admit.

If you have any form of vision loss, distinguishing between beauty and personal care products can be a huge challenge.  And simple everyday activities we take for granted become obstacles to your independence, enjoyment and safety.

Designed for my son Cyrus—But Better for Everyone.

Now imagine you are blind.

All too often accessible packaging is not considered when designing products.  Especially when designing luxury products where aesthetics is critical to a brand’s image and identity.

CyR.U.S. is changing all that.

Introducing the CyR.U.S. System

CyR.U.S.’s proprietary system makes it easy to identify products, learn about ingredients and understand usage. Right at your fingertips.

The symbols are intuitive (think emojis) so they can be instantly learned by everyone. Braille can take as long as 4 months or more to master.

Each CyR.U.S. symbol is optimized for touch with the right height and thickness for easy reading.

CyR.U.S. also offers the ability to create embossed QR codes that users can scan using a screen-reader app on their smartphones. It prompts an auditory product description and product usage instructions.

Easy to learn.  Easy to use.  Better for everyone.
